Kickback Coffee | https://kickbackcoffee.co.uk/
Kickback Coffee began as a solo adventure, with founder Alex roasting beans in a popcorn maker. What followed has been pretty impressive, with the Kickback team now numbering in the 40s and serving up brews across four coffee shops! Top tier coffee is a given, but Kickback are about more than what’s in the cup. It’s the adventures mapped out over flat whites, a community drawn together by the outdoors, and a brew spot that leaves a lasting impression. Based in Cheshire on the edge of the Peak District, their roastery is surrounded by cycle routes and rolling hills and helps to fuel those who crave fresh air and wild places. The team even host free monthly community events (think rambles and gravel bike rides) from their coffee shops in Macclesfield, Altrincham and Sale.

Heart & Graft Coffee Roastery | https://heartandgraft.co.uk/
Heart & Graft began life in a small Salford co-op, roasting coffee on a Giesen W15A. As demand grew, they moved to a restored mill in Newton Heath, expanding with a second roaster and a dedicated training space. In 2025, they opened a more central home in Cheetham Hill, creating an accessible hub for events, learning, and roasting outstanding Manchester coffee beans. Today, this Manchester coffee roaster produces bold, characterful coffees designed for every kind of drinker. Their approach is simple: coffee should be approachable. Their four “Archetypes” flavour profiles make exploring, understanding and brewing coffee easy for all.

92 Degrees Coffee | https://92degrees.coffee/
Liverpool-born coffee roasters 92 Degrees Coffee were established in 2014 by five friends with one shared obsession: coffee. With no industry background, they bought a roaster and taught themselves the craft in a meeting room in Liverpool’s Hardman Yard, working through plenty of bad early batches before opening Liverpool’s first combined micro-roastery and coffee shop on the corner of Hope Street and Hardman Street in January 2015.
More than a decade later, 92 Degrees has grown into one of the UK’s most exciting independent coffee brands, with over 20 locations, a dedicated roastery on Liverpool’s waterfront, a team of more than 100 people and a growing franchise network taking the brand into new communities. Despite that growth, the approach to coffee remains the same: carefully sourced beans, small-batch roasting and a commitment to serving Damn Fine Coffee™ for everyone.
And the name? 92 degrees is the optimum temperature for extracting espresso – a nod to the attention to detail that has been at the heart of the business from day one. If you’re in Liverpool, you can still visit the original 92 Degrees Coffee on the corner of Hope Street and Hardman Street, where it all began.

California Coffee & Wine | https://californiacoffee.co.uk/
California coffee is built on a simple idea: serving up kick-ass coffee. Founders Justin and Diana first met in a chance encounter in Las Vegas. What followed was the realisation that they had a shared dream, leading them across the Atlantic and into the deep end of the coffee industry as they set up a cafe/wine bar. They’ve moved around a bit since but have now settled on Oxford Road in Altrincham, where delicious Manchester coffee is served within 24 hours of being roasted. Since opening, the site has become a local go-to that also hosts tastings and events that dig further into coffee.
